Apple’s Emergency SOS Live Video feature is now available to emergency communications centers across Brazil through a partnership with RapidSOS. The rollout lets emergency services request live video or existing photos and videos from iPhone users during an emergency.RapidSOS announcement

The feature does not automatically stream a user’s camera. Apple says the iPhone owner can choose whether to accept or decline a request from emergency services. RapidSOS says the Brazilian integration is available to emergency communications centers handling calls to 190. The company previously enabled the same type of connection for emergency services in the United States after the feature launched with iOS 18 in September 2024.

That makes this a regional availability expansion rather than a new iPhone feature. The practical benefit depends on whether a caller reaches a participating emergency center and whether sharing live video is useful in the situation. Emergency services may retain a copy of shared media, so users should treat the request as part of the official emergency response process.

Apple says Emergency SOS Live Video is available on iPhone 14 and later, although it may not be available in every situation. Availability also depends on the emergency service infrastructure in the region.
