Rescued Husky Maya Outsmarts Shelter Staff by Standing Proudly on Top of Her Kennel
When shelter staff found rescued husky Maya standing on top of her cage, they realized locks are just puzzles to her.
When the staff at Richmond Animal Care & Control walked into the shelter one morning, they had to do a double take. Maya, a 5-year-old husky mix, wasn't inside her kennel where she was supposed to be. Instead, she was casually perched on top of it, grinning like she owned the place.
Somehow, the remarkably agile pup had scaled the enclosure walls, squeezed through a gap near the ceiling, and made herself at home on the wire roof. Shelter director Christie Peters recalled that the staff were dying of laughter while trying to figure out how she accomplished the escape stunt.
