Rescuer Tears Open Tightly Tied Cloth Bag and Finds a Scared Senior Inside
Confused and trapped in the dark, a 9-year-old dog got a gentle second chance when a Romanian shelter stepped in.
Trapped in darkness and unable to understand why her entire life had suddenly vanished, an elderly dog sat trembling inside a tightly bundled cloth bag outside a shelter gate. Alexandra Sava, founder of Romanian rescue Sava’s Safe Haven, hurried over after resident dogs barked at an arriving car. The passengers explained that their late family member’s dog was inside the sack, but neither could take her in. Seeing the bundle shift and realizing the poor pup could barely breathe, Sava immediately poked an opening in the fabric so she could get fresh air.
Afraid the traumatized pup might bolt in panic if freed outside, Sava carefully carried her into a secure indoor room before untying the sack, as reported by The Dodo. Out peered a gentle, graying face, paralyzed with fear and shock. A quick microchip scan confirmed what Sava suspected: the frightened little dog was 9 years old and had just lost the only guardian she had ever known.
