We Tested a $400 Luxury Dog Bed on Two Pups to See If It's Worth the Splurge

Opening the enormous box, I was amazed by the heavy, vacuum-sealed inserts and ultra-soft cover. The setup instructions even recommended letting the orthopedic foam expand for 72 hours—just like a high-end human memory foam mattress.

Once assembled, the bed took up significant floor space in our apartment. But the moment I placed Darcy on top of it, watching her sink into the plush mattress with her back supported by the rim, any doubts melted away.

She stayed in that bed for the rest of the day, completely blissed out. Tossing her duct-taped relic into the trash came with zero regrets.

But how would a younger, active dog respond? To test it further, I lent the bed to my neighbor's 5-year-old Cavapoo, Milo. Milo is a playful pup who usually rotates between small dog beds and cool hardwood floors.
