Apple details Watch Audio Intelligence: Live Rewind (15s Crown text), Siri Recap summaries, Secure Exclave privacy, beta later in 2026 with EU and device limits.
Apple’s Watch Ultra 4 Newsroom — with matching language on Series 12 — gives Audio Intelligence more depth than a hardware announce bullet. This follow-up focuses on Live Rewind and Siri Recap, not S11 pricing or the Health Sensing System already covered in the Series 12 / Ultra 4 announce.
Pre-event Gurman Recaps framing pointed the same direction; Apple’s post now supplies primary detail and limits.
Apple says Audio Intelligence helps users stay aware, catch what they missed, and remember key moments, using the Watch microphone, S11, Apple Intelligence models on iPhone, and Private Cloud Compute. Featured pieces include Live Rewind, Siri Recap, Sound Recognition, and faster Shazam.
A double press of the Digital Crown shows the previous 15 seconds of a conversation as a text snippet. Users can ask Siri about that text or save it to the Siri app. Apple adds that Live Rewind plays an audible chime even if the Watch is on silent, and shows a full-display animation plus microphone indicator so people nearby can see it is active.
When turned on, after a conversation Apple Intelligence can generate a title and key points in the Siri app — a high-level summary, not a transcript. Users control where/when Recap runs from Control Center.
Apple’s privacy section is unusually specific:
Timing / eligibility (Newsroom footnote): Live Rewind and Siri Recap arrive in beta later this year (footnote: late 2026). Require Apple Watch Series 12 or Ultra 4, plus an Apple Intelligence–enabled iPhone 16 or later (excluding iPhone 16e). English first; not initially available in the EU. Server-side features (including Live Rewind / Recap) are subject to daily usage limits.
