Nearly all Apple Watch SE 3 configurations are suddenly listed as Currently Unavailable on Apple’s online store in the U.S. and other countries checked by reporters, according to MacRumors and 9to5Mac.
The timing is notable: Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event is Wednesday, September 9, where Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are widely expected. 9to5Mac says shoppers can still configure an SE 3, then hit “Currently Unavailable” for both delivery and Apple Store pickup.
Why this is unusual — and what it does not prove
Apple does not typically yank every configuration of a current Watch offline the day before a keynote. That said, an Apple Watch SE 4 was not part of the mainstream rumor set for tomorrow. MacRumors notes SE generations have not historically shipped in back-to-back years (SE in 2020, SE 2 in 2022, SE 3 in 2025).
So the cleanest read tonight is inventory or storefront friction — not a confirmation that a budget SE refresh will join Series 12 and Ultra 4 on stage. A temporary catalog glitch is still possible.
