Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman told the Power On podcast he believes Apple’s long-rumored 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touch-enabled OLED displays could debut as early as October 2026 — or slip to November.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said on his first Power On podcast that he believes Apple will introduce its long-rumored 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with touch-enabled OLED displays in October or November 2026, MacRumors reports (Joe Rossignol, October 1, 2026).
“Apple, I believe, will introduce its first touchscreen MacBook Pro this fall, as early as October,” Gurman said. “It could slip to November, but as early as October.” Treat that as Gurman’s current belief, not an Apple confirmation.
Gurman added that Apple is testing the machines with macOS 27.2, which is currently in beta. That update is expected toward the end of October, so MacRumors notes the touchscreen MacBook Pro models might be announced later this month if the software timeline holds.
Apple has not publicly scheduled a Mac event for those models. A firmer date would still need to come from Apple — or from clearer reporting closer to launch.
Beyond an OLED touchscreen, other details circulating with the same rumor cycle include:
Those extras are still in the rumor bucket alongside Gurman’s timing call.
A few years ago Gurman reported that Apple was exploring cellular Macs that could join a 5G or LTE network without an iPhone hotspot. Some fans therefore hope a future high-end MacBook Pro might ship with Apple’s C1X or C2 modem.
MacRumors frames that as fan speculation, not a fresh Gurman confirmation for these OLED models. Keep it marked as such.
The touchscreen models are expected to sit above the regular 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro line. Those mainstream Pros are separately rumored to jump to M7 Pro and M7 Max next year. It is unclear whether the OLED touch machines would keep MacBook Pro branding or adopt something distinct — MacRumors floats ideas such as MacBook Ultra, without claiming Apple has chosen a name.

Bottom line: Gurman’s first Power On podcast puts touch-enabled OLED MacBook Pros on a October-or-November 2026 window, with macOS 27.2 testing as the near-term software clue. Still a rumor — watch for Apple’s own announcement before treating dates or branding as locked.
