Colorways decide half of purchases. Tech YouTubers pretend otherwise.
Here we go again.
Action Button customization still feels half-finished on 16/17 for me.
Skipping this year unless battery life actually jumps. Spec sheets stopped impressing me.
Coming from a 14 Pro. Skipping 15 and 16 felt fine. 18 Pro needs a real camera or display reason or I wait for the foldable generation. Full price for iterative bumps stopped making sense once trade-ins cratered.
Pro gets the camera bumps again and base models get leftovers. Same playbook.
Every September: identifiers appear, Gurman outlines it, YouTubers film everything-we-know again. Fine if upgrades are your hobby. For me the open questions are battery, thermals under continuous camera use, and whether Intelligence features work offline like the slides claim.
Carrier deals will matter more than MSRP for most people. Always do.
Event invite drop is pure dopamine. Then three hours for a titanium colorway.
Insane timeline
If 18 Pro keeps the same design I'm upgrading from 15 and calling it done.
I'll watch muted and read the recap. Live events are fluff now.
Titanium scratch discourse will return like clockwork. Bring popcorn.
If Apple Intelligence needs cloud for basic stuff I'm not impressed.

Surprise and Shine is peak vague Apple branding. Covers phones, watches, AirPods, maybe a surprise. Hardware ID spikes are the tell — they don't load dozens of identifiers for a software-only show.
Come on.
Let's go.
Camera Control 2.0 better fix accidental presses. Needed a revision.
