Firefighters Called To Rescue 'Ducklings' From Trash Find A Sweet Black Lab Mix Instead
Miami-Dade firefighters responded expecting trapped ducklings, but found a sweet abandoned pup who captured all their hearts.
Every call for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue brings the unexpected, but the Engine 48 crew was still taken aback when they responded to a report of ducklings trapped in a garbage bin. Instead of feathered babies, they looked inside and found a panting black Lab mix sheltering under the sweltering sun.
The firefighters gently approached the dog and quickly earned his trust. Although he didn't have a collar or ID tag, he was remarkably friendly and completely uninjured. Refusing to leave him behind in the heat, the crew brought him back to the station for some well-deserved VIP treatment.
At the station, the sweet pup received fresh food, a refreshing bath, and a fitting new name: Jack. He fit right in with his heroes, and to make the story even better, one of the firefighters stepped up to foster Jack at home while he waits for his forever family.
