Rescued Pug Jinny Lu Wins 50th World's Ugliest Dog Contest
With her big eyes, floppy tongue, and loving heart, this 6-year-old rescued pug proved that true beauty is all about personality.
The 50th World's Ugliest Dog Contest in Santa Rosa, California, crowned a brand-new champion this year: a charming 6-year-old pug named Jinny Lu. With her adorable big eyes, trademark floppy tongue, and stylish pearl necklace, Jinny Lu stole the hearts of judges and spectators alike.
Jinny Lu's journey to stardom began four years ago when she was adopted through a Pug Rescue organization. Since then, she has brought endless joy and cheeky energy to her home. Her owner, Michelle Grady, shared that this was their fourth time entering the competition because Jinny Lu absolutely loves meeting everyone and soaking up the affection.
Far from poking fun at appearances, the historic contest aims to showcase the unique charm and inner beauty of every dog while advocating for adoption over buying. Along with her shiny new title and a $5,000 prize, Jinny Lu will also be featured on a limited-edition MUG Root Beer can!
