Meet Milo, the Gentle Dog Who Befriends Butterflies in His Garden
Rather than chasing fluttering insects, this sweet pup sits patiently among the flowers and lets butterflies land right on his nose.
In 2019, during a massive Painted Lady butterfly migration across Southern California, Jen Bennett noticed her dog, Milo, doing something extraordinary. Instead of chasing the fluttering swarms filling the air, the pup quietly sat down to observe them. Touched by his gentle curiosity, Jen decided to transform their backyard into a flourishing pollinator sanctuary designed especially for him and his winged friends.
Today, as reported by Dogster, the garden thrives with colorful blooms and milkweed to support vulnerable Monarch butterflies. Milo spends his days relaxing peacefully among the blossoms, earning him the beloved title of "The Butterfly King." Whether he's sporting handmade flower crowns or sitting still while visitors perch right on his nose to sip nectar, he never disturbs his tiny companions.
