Puppy Born With a Crooked Smile Is Looking for a Family to Love Him Just as He Is

When Benji arrived at Colorado Puppy Rescue, his caregivers immediately noticed something extra special about him. While the husky and shepherd mix puppy has a classic tan coat and white paws, his face has a distinct tilt. Born with a condition known as a "wry bite," Benji's jaw is asymmetrical, giving him a charmingly unique smile that admirers often compare to a living Picasso painting.

Despite his unusual look, Benji has never known any different and approaches life with boundless joy. He is just as playful and affectionate as any other pup his age. To ensure he stays happy and healthy for years to come, shelter staff scheduled a routine procedure to remove a few teeth that could potentially cause trouble later, ensuring his bite is completely comfortable.

Since moving into a foster home, the once-terrified puppy has truly blossomed into a social butterfly. His fosters take him on frequent outings, helping his confidence soar. Smart and eager to please, Benji gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids, leading his caregivers to believe he could even excel as a therapy dog in the future.
