Puppy Born With a Crooked Smile Wins Hearts as He Searches for a Forever Home

There is something undeniably special about dogs who stand out from the crowd. For Benji, a sweet husky and shepherd mix at Colorado Puppy Rescue, his piercing blue eyes and asymmetrical face make him completely one-of-a-kind. Benji was born with a condition known as a "wry bite," causing his lower jaw to jut sideways and giving him an endearing, lopsided grin that admirers have affectionately compared to a living Picasso painting.
Though his crooked snout draws double-takes, Benji has no idea he looks different from any other dog. As reported by The Dodo, the rescue scheduled a dental visit to remove a few teeth that could cause issues down the road, ensuring he stays comfortable, happy, and pain-free. Aside from that preventative care, shelter workers emphasize that his unusual features simply make him "extra adorable."
