Rescuer Saves Neglected Dog Mistaken For A 'Werewolf' And Helps Her Heal
"It really shocked me to see her in that condition," rescuer Zadrigman said before giving Bombón the second chance she deserved.
When dedicated dog rescuer Zadrigman heard reports from local residents about a supposed "werewolf" wandering the streets in Mexico, he set out immediately to investigate. What he found was a heartbroken pup suffering from an extreme case of neglect and severe mange. Bald across most of her body with dry, scaly skin and striking blue eyes, the frightened dog was in deep pain and completely distrustful of humans.
Winning over the skittish dog, whom Zadrigman named Bombón, took patience and kindness. Whenever he tried to reach out to her, Bombón winced and darted away in fear. Refusing to give up, Zadrigman slowly followed her with gentle reassurance and food until she finally felt safe enough to approach him and eat from a bowl.
Once Bombón realized Zadrigman was there to help, she allowed him to lift her into his car and drive her to a veterinary clinic. She received critical medical treatments, soothing skin ointments, and round-the-clock care. Surrounded by daily love and affection, her skin began to heal rapidly and soft, plush fur grew back over her entire body.
Four months after her miraculous rescue, Bombón looks like an entirely new dog and feels like one, too. Now confident, happy, and fully restored, she has been adopted by a loving forever family who adores her. The once-feared street dog is finally getting to experience the happy life she always deserved.
