Whippet Refuses to Surrender Her Sunbeam Bed Until Her Sister Drags the Whole Mattress Down

Nola was completely melted into her plush cushion on top of the pet crate, thoroughly convinced she had secured the most peaceful nap in the house.
Then her sister Peigí trotted into the living room, clocked the sunny elevated perch, and decided tranquility was simply not on today's agenda.
As shared on Instagram by their family at @peigiandnola and reported by DogTime, the two Whippet sisters are usually inseparable. But as anyone living in a multi-dog household knows, true sisterhood is ninety percent unconditional love and ten percent relentless turf wars over prime sleeping real estate.
The tactical sofa heist begins
Peigí wasn't about to settle for a secondary lounge spot when the penthouse suite was occupied. Springing onto the adjacent couch, the mischievous sister calculated the shortest route to victory: dental leverage. She clamped her jaws onto the hem of Nola's bed and gave it a sharp yank.
Most dogs might take the hint and relocate, but Nola is a professional rester. She engaged maximum dead-weight mode, tucking her slender paws beneath her and refusing to surrender so much as an inch of fleece. When brute force didn't immediately dislodge the sleeper, Peigí doubled down, bracing all four paws against the sofa cushions and tugging in rhythmic, stubborn bursts.
Gravity wins, but the nap survives
Eventually, physics caught up with Nola's sheer stubbornness. With one final dramatic heave, the entire cushion slipped over the crate edge and tumbled downward onto the couch cushions below. In true sighthound fashion, Nola rode the falling bed down like a royal sled, barely blinking as she landed softly on the sofa cushions.
For Peigí, grounding the target meant mission accomplished; for Nola, staying horizontal through the whole ordeal was an undeniable masterclass in canine relaxation. Whippets are notorious comfort connoisseurs whose life ambition centers on finding the warmest, fluffiest hollow in any room. When two of them share a home, any routine snooze can instantly flip into high-stakes living room humor—where no bed is truly conquered until both dogs end up sharing it anyway.
