The 30th Card Set's two packs are worth about ¥2,600 at box prices, a common reverse-holo Psyduck PSA 10 outsold Dark Blastoise by 42%, and the Gold Trophy Pikachu bid tops the Trophy record.
The 30th-anniversary trade keeps running: today's ¥1,200 30th CELEBRATION Card Set contains two booster packs that are worth about ¥2,600 at sealed-box prices. In the US, a common reverse-holo Psyduck in PSA 10 sold for $204,000, 42% more than the Dark Blastoise PSA 10 in the same auction. And the Gold Trophy Pikachu bid is already above the Trophy series record.

👉 Read: PTCG100 is down from 292.51 to 266.42 over a month (−8.9%) and still drifting lower. OPCG100 is down 6.9% over the month but has sat in a 188.4–188.9 band for ten days since Oct 4, so it is flat at the lows. With no broad direction, the money is going into individual cards (see the auction section).

The official 30th site lists nine starter-trio 30th CELEBRATION Card Sets at ¥1,200 (≈ HK$60) each from today, Oct 16. Each has three holo starter promos, two 30th CELEBRATION booster packs and a paper card stand.
The math:
⚠️ Action: loose packs will flood out of convenience and toy stores from today. Single 30th packs on Mercari are likely pulled from these sets and carry weighing/reseal risk. Skip loose packs; buy sealed Card Sets or shrink-wrapped boxes.
According to The Pack Report, as of the afternoon of Oct 14 the 1997 Gold 1st Place 1st Tournament Trophy Pikachu PSA 8 in Goldin's 30th Anniversary auction had 31 bids at US$2,425,000 (≈ HK$19.03M), or about US$2,958,500 (≈ HK$23.22M) with the 22% buyer's premium. It was US$2,225,000 on Oct 10, so it added $200,000 in four days.
Comp: the previous Trophy Pikachu record is the 1998 Bronze 3rd Place PSA 10 Goldin sold in May for US$1,769,000 (≈ HK$13.88M) with premium. This PSA 8 is already 67% above that, hammer to hammer, before the close. The market is pricing it as a one-of-a-kind tournament prize, and the grade barely matters. Bidding closes Oct 25 at 10 p.m. ET, nine days out, with 30-minute extended bidding.
👉 Impact: a record close would reprice the whole Trophy and prize-card segment (Silver, Bronze, Illustrator). If you hold similar cards, there is no rush to sell before the close.
The Asia English official page dates the Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur Flame-Flame Fruit Coliseum lottery results to Oct 15. Entrants must buy one limited sleeve set and one official deck box. Those items are sold to entrants only, so how many reach the secondary market will only be clear after the event.

The anomalies (the real story):
👉 Read: Psyduck's price came from a single sale on 24 bids. That is a thin market, and the next PSA 10 may not repeat it. Wait for the next sale before chasing.
