We verified the storefront copy on apple.com/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-duo: “Come back on 10.12 to get ready for pre‑order. Pre-order starting at 5:00 am PT on 10.16. Available starting 10.23.” MacRumors (Juli Clover, September 29, 2026) and 9to5Mac (Ryan Christoffel, September 29, 2026) first flagged the product-page update.

What Get Ready is — and isn’t

Get Ready is Apple’s familiar pre-order prep flow in the Apple Store app and on apple.com. Per MacRumors and 9to5Mac, it typically lets you:

• Pick color and storage
• Confirm carrier status
• Choose accessories, AppleCare+, and a trade-in
• Add a payment method and shipping / billing address

When pre-orders go live, a completed Get Ready setup is meant to speed checkout — often described as one-tap / faster ordering. It is preparation, not a reservation: you still have to place the order after the window opens, and Apple has not promised that Get Ready locks inventory or guarantees October 23 delivery.

Apple has not published an exact clock time for Get Ready to open on October 12. 9to5Mac expects the window to run through much of October 15, but that end time is not an official cutoff on the buy page we checked.
