Apple disclosed U.S. estimated out-of-warranty iPhone Duo repair fees ahead of Friday pre-orders, from $49 for the cover layer to $1,499 for other damage.
Apple has published estimated out-of-warranty repair fees for iPhone Duo in the U.S., with the maximum charge for "other damage" set at $1,499, MacRumors reports (Joe Rossignol, October 14, 2026). 9to5Mac (Ryan Christoffel, October 14, 2026) lists the same schedule and notes the figures are estimated; Apple Authorized Service Providers can set their own fees.
The newly disclosed list spans from a $49 cover layer replacement through battery, cameras, and both displays, up to that $1,499 other-damage ceiling, days before Friday pre-orders.
That $49 cover-layer line fills in the without-coverage price for the iPhone Duo replaceable cover layer, which is $19 with AppleCare. A MacRumors follow-up also flags the $229 battery service fee as a standout among the new numbers.
AppleCare+ for iPhone Duo costs $19.99 per month, $199.99 per year, or $399 upfront, per MacRumors. Service fees with coverage are far lower:
Apple's fees and deductibles page lists matching iPhone deductibles for cover layer, outer display and back glass, inner display, other accidental damage, and theft or loss.
