Apple posted estimated service costs for the new $299 HomeView: $279 for out-of-warranty "Other damage," or $39 with AppleCare+.
Apple has published estimated service costs for HomeView, the $299 smart home hub announced at Welcome Home on October 13: $279 without AppleCare+ and $39 with it.
Those figures apply to both the tabletop and wall-mounted models. Apple lists a single out-of-warranty category, "Other damage," with no separate screen or speaker line items, which 9to5Mac notes may point toward full-unit replacement rather than part-level repair.
MacRumors reports the same $279 / $39 split and that the fees cover any type of damage listed for HomeView.
Apple's HomeView service and repair page still frames final pricing after inspection. Estimated fees may be subject to tax, and a shipping fee can apply if the unit is mailed in. Apple Authorized Service Providers can set their own rates.
In the U.S., AppleCare+ for HomeView is:
Apple's fees and deductibles legal page lists a $39 accidental-damage fee for Apple HomeView under the Apple TV and Home section, alongside HomePod at $39 and HomePod mini at $15.
With AppleCare+, Apple also advertises Express Replacement, in-person Genius Bar or authorized provider service, and mail-in options. Accidental damage coverage is described as unlimited repairs for drops and spills while the plan is active.
HomeView ships beginning November 13 after Welcome Home. The out-of-warranty estimate sits close to the device's $299 retail price, so the AppleCare+ path is the main way to bring a damage visit down to a five-dollar-range deductible relative to buying another unit.
Apple has not broken out separate fees for display-only or base-only failures on the public repair estimate page.
