Why the video does not hold up
According to AppleInsider, leaker yeux1122 posted a roughly 14-second video that appears to show Dark Cherry and light blue iPhone 18 Pro Max models beside an iPhone 17 Pro Max. The report notes several problems:
- Retail demo iPhones are not expected on open display before Apple’s announcement and subsequent store readiness
- The phones are largely shown from the back, with no clear powered-on interface that would prove a working unit
- A price sticker in the video appears to quote a high monthly price in Russian rubles; Apple does not operate retail stores in Russia, so third-party reseller context alone does not validate the devices
AppleInsider concludes the clip is another pre-event fake, and similar videos are likely before the keynote.
