Beloved Golden Retriever Tucker Budzyn Passes Away at Age 8
The viral social media star who charmed over 27 million fans passed away after a sudden battle with lymphoma.
Tucker Budzyn, the expressive Golden Retriever whose comedic personality and sweet spirit brought smiles to more than 27 million fans worldwide, has passed away at the age of eight. As reported by ETtoday Pets, his devoted mom, Courtney Budzyn, tearfully shared the heartbreaking news online, revealing that Tucker passed away peacefully on September 2, less than a week after his lymphoma diagnosis was publicly announced.
While Tucker initially responded well to early treatment, his condition suddenly took a critical turn. Doctors discovered that the cancer had created a perforation in his intestine, triggering a rapid and severe infection. Despite emergency hospitalization, fluids, and intensive antibiotic therapy, the complications became too difficult to overcome, leading his family to make the compassionate decision to let him drift away without pain.
Adopted in 2018, Tucker began winning hearts when he was just an eight-week-old puppy curiously pawing at ice cubes and investigating hair clips. His infectious joy inspired Courtney and her husband, Mike, to dedicate their lives to sharing his adventures, building a massive community across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Remembering her beloved companion, Courtney shared that Tucker spent his final weeks surrounded by pure happiness, promising to honor his legacy: "He stood by my side for so many years—he wouldn't let me give up."
