Clever Stray Dog Learns How McDonald's Drive-Thru Works To Get Free Meals
After living on the streets for two years, Big Mac figured out that pointing at the menu screen was the key to getting drivers to order him a treat.
For nearly two years, a clever German shepherd mix roamed the streets of Cleveland, Texas, always keeping a cautious distance from local animal rescuer Zully Vasquez Ventura. While he was too timid to be caught at first, everything changed when a local McDonald's opened up. The resourceful dog quickly figured out how the drive-thru ordering system worked, following cars and barking at driver windows until friendly customers threw him a snack.
When Ventura pulled into the drive-thru, she was amazed by what she witnessed. The clever pup barked at her, looked her right in the eyes, and then pointed his face directly at the ordering screen to signal what he wanted. Ventura happily ordered him a Big Mac burger, which he devoured, but she knew she needed to find a way to bring him to safety once and for all.
After Ventura posted video of his drive-thru antics online, Mike's Chance Animal Rescue offered to take him in. Ventura returned to the restaurant, ordered a McDonald's Big Breakfast, and used scrambled eggs to gently lure the hungry dog into a rescue crate. Once he realized he was safe, the nervous stray completely transformed into a joyful, playful companion.
Ventura fittingly named the sweet boy Big Mac. Now fully vetted, around two years old, and weighing 55 pounds, this brilliant dog is thriving in foster care and ready to find a loving forever home where he will never have to beg for a meal again.
