Emily and Josh wanted Swayze to play a huge role on their big day—and his pup-level perspective melted everyone’s hearts.
When Emily Cowles envisioned her wedding to fiancé Josh, she knew the guest list wouldn't be complete without her beloved dog, Swayze. Swayze first came into Emily's life in 2021 after her father passed away, offering comfort during a difficult time before Josh entered the picture to form an inseparable trio. Naturally, the couple made Swayze part of the celebration, walking him down the aisle and even serving a signature "Swayze Spritz" cocktail.
Still wanting to give him a starring role, Emily was inspired by a video she had seen online and asked their videographer to strap a GoPro onto Swayze's harness during cocktail hour. As Emily shared with The Dodo, sending the four-legged videographer into the crowd yielded pure gold.
From Swayze’s perspective, the camera captured a revolving door of delighted guests bending down to offer baby-talk greetings, enthusiastic head pats, and warm hugs. The lens even caught a tender, funny moment with Emily's 91-year-old grandmother. While weddings can be a blur for the bride and groom, Swayze made sure every single guest felt welcomed—leaving the newlyweds with a treasure trove of heartwarming memories from a dog's-eye view.
