Fi Recalls Two Dog Supplements Over Possible Salmonella Contamination

Fi is recalling two lots of dog supplements sold online after a supplier ingredient raised a possible Salmonella risk for pets and people who handle the products.

If you keep Fi calming or multivitamin soft chews in the pantry, it is worth checking the lot number tonight. Fi (announced via manufacturer Vet Plus, Inc.) is voluntarily recalling two dog supplements because an ingredient sent to its manufacturer may be contaminated with Salmonella. The FDA posted the company announcement on September 8, 2026, after Fi’s September 3 notice. No illnesses in pets or people have been reported so far, and production has been paused while the manufacturer investigates.

Which products are affected

The recall covers products sold directly to consumers and through Amazon and Chewy:

Fi 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs (180 g) — lot 26159, UPC 8 50055 11168 4

If your bottle does not match those lot numbers, it is not part of this recall. When in doubt, compare the code printed on your container with the list above.

What dog owners should do

Stop using any matching lot immediately. Seal the container tightly and throw it in the trash so pets (and curious kids) cannot get into it. Wash your hands after handling the product, and clean bowls or surfaces it touched.

Salmonella can make dogs sick and can also spread to people through handling contaminated products or contact with an infected pet’s waste. That household risk is why this kind of recall matters even when no illnesses have been confirmed yet.

Watch for symptoms — and call a vet if needed

According to the FDA notice, dogs with Salmonella may seem lethargic and may have diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, or vomiting. Some pets only show a decreased appetite, fever, or belly discomfort. Healthy-looking pets can still carry the bacteria and pass it along.

If your dog ate a recalled lot and looks unwell, contact your veterinarian. Do not wait on home remedies, and do not invent or share dosages—your vet should guide next steps for your individual dog. People who develop nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, or fever after contact with the product should contact their healthcare provider.
