AppleCare One Family: $49.99/mo covers up to six people’s devices
Apple’s new AppleCare One Family plan covers every eligible device for up to six people in a Family Sharing group for a fixed $49.99 per month in the U.S., starting September 14.
Alongside Surprise and Shine, Apple quietly expanded its multi-device protection stack with AppleCare One Family — a U.S. plan that puts an entire Family Sharing household under one fixed monthly price.
What it costs and covers
- $49.99/month until cancelled for AppleCare One Family
- Covers every eligible device for up to six people in a Family Sharing group (including the subscriber)
- Includes AppleCare+ style accident coverage, battery service, and priority support
- Adds theft and loss protection for eligible iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch
- Six total claims per year across the group (vs three on AppleCare One Individual)
Apple says newly purchased eligible devices are added automatically, and the price stays the same as you add more covered products.
How it differs from AppleCare One Individual
AppleCare One Individual remains $19.99/month for up to three devices on the same Apple Account, with $5.99/month add-ons beyond that. Family is the household option: it is built around Family Sharing, not a single Apple Account device pool.
Apple marks Family as available September 14 on apple.com/applecare — the same day iOS 27 and companion OS updates arrive.
Buyer notes before you subscribe
- Confirm each person’s devices are eligible (Apple cites most devices less than four years old and in good working condition; diagnostics may apply)
- Theft/loss still depends on Find My being enabled at the time of a claim
- Compare against per-device AppleCare+ if your household only has one or two products — Family is aimed at denser Apple homes
