Shadow loves bedtime cuddles right up until the exact microsecond he decides petting privileges are revoked.
Shadow lay stretched across the duvet, letting his mom gently scratch his lower back while the bedroom was quiet and relaxed. Then, without moving a single muscle in his body, his eyes flickered sideways toward her fingers.
His mom didn't even have time to lift her hand before the red retriever twisted his body, bared a playful faux snarl, and took a theatrical nip at her knuckles.
