Apple Health Age, Longevity tab, and $119 Quest blood panel coming later this year

Apple’s redesigned Health app adds Health Age, a Longevity tab, and a $119 Quest blood panel — arriving later this year.

Alongside Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, Apple published a dedicated Newsroom health brief on a redesigned Health app — including Health Age, a Longevity tab, at-home movement / VO2 assessments, and a $119 Quest blood panel in the U.S.

Redesigned Health app (later this year)

Apple says the Health app will adapt with Apple Intelligence under iOS 27 / iPadOS 27, starting in U.S. English, with more languages later.

Insights tab: timely summary across heart, sleep, readiness, fitness, vitals, and cycle tracking, plus a section with personalized recommendations

Longevity tab: longitudinal view across heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, movement, metabolic health, hearing, and nutrition

Health Age

Health Age compares selected metrics to chronological age. Apple says the algorithm can factor in Apple Watch signals such as VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep, and HRV, and users can enrich it with lab data such as A1c and LDL.

Apple notes Health Age requires Apple Watch, and some features require users to be 18 or older.

Quest blood panel — $119

U.S. users will be able to schedule and purchase labs with over 50 key biomarkers for $119 directly in Health, at about 2,000 Quest Diagnostics locations. Existing lab import / trends remain available.

At-home assessments

Users can run on-device assessments for flexibility, strength, balance, movement mechanics, and VO2 max using the iPhone camera and Apple Watch. Apple says no video is recorded, stored, or shared. The VO2 estimate can also use AirPods Pro 3 or a third-party heart-rate device.

How this relates to Watch hardware

Series 12 / Ultra 4 still own the denser Health Sensing System and daily Readiness score (0–10 with Recover / Pace Yourself / Ready / Go For It). The Health app redesign is the phone-side longevity layer that sits on top — shipping later this year, not on day-one Watch availability (September 18).
