iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27 are expected around 10 a.m. PT on September 14. Here’s how to update, what’s compatible, and what to do if Software Update is empty.
Apple’s public OS 27 rollout lands Monday, September 14, 2026 — the same day the company confirmed after Surprise and Shine. If you only need the date and Siri AI language caveats, see our earlier launch confirmation. This piece is the release-day utility: when to look, how to install, and what hardware is in.
Apple has not published an official clock time. Outlet coverage and prior years’ pattern point to roughly 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern (MacRumors, Cult of Mac). In Hong Kong that window is about 1 a.m. Tuesday, September 15. Rollouts can stagger — if nothing appears at the expected minute, wait and check again.
Apple’s post-event materials and Newsroom notes put these free updates on the same Monday:
Developers already had the last gate with App Store submissions open on Xcode 27 RC.
Apple’s support flow for stuck updates also documents common blockers: an active VPN or proxy, not enough free storage, or a corrupted partial download you should delete from Settings → General → iPhone/iPad Storage before retrying (Apple Support; MacObserver summary of Apple’s documented alerts).
If over-the-air still fails, Apple’s documented fallback is updating from a Mac with Finder (or the Apple Devices app / iTunes on older setups).
