A new data-sharing toggle and a Siri Messages framework line up with reports of an A19-class chip in the next Apple TV 4K, which Gurman expects on October 13.
The third tvOS 27.2 beta adds an "Improve Siri & Apple Intelligence" option to the Settings app, according to MacRumors. It is a strong hint that Apple's next Apple TV will support the company's newer AI features. AppleInsider found the same string, which mentions Apple's foundation models by name.
The setting's description reads: "Help improve foundation models and Siri by allowing Apple to collect and use your text and audio interactions with Siri, Dictation, and Translate."
On Apple devices that don't support Apple Intelligence, the equivalent opt-in is labeled "Improve Siri & Dictation." MacRumors notes that the new string sits alongside the existing Siri data-sharing code, so it will most likely appear only on hardware that can run Apple Intelligence. The current Apple TV 4K uses the A15 Bionic, a chip Apple has never supported for Apple Intelligence on iPhone.
tvOS 27.2 also includes a new Siri Messages UI framework. MacRumors and AppleInsider read it as groundwork for Siri reading out messages sent to a linked iPhone and offering smart replies on the TV. Siri on Apple TV can't send or read messages today, so the framework is likely tied to Siri AI. How it would work in practice, including privacy on a shared living room screen, is not yet clear.
Code found in September points to an A19 or A19 Pro chip in the next Apple TV 4K, with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, MacRumors reported. 9to5Mac notes that the "AppleTV18,1" identifier follows the same numbering as the iPhone 17 lineup, which also points to an A19-class chip. Other rumored upgrades include Apple's N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7 and a revised Siri Remote.
9to5Mac also points out that tvOS and HomePod software are the only OS 27 platforms still missing the new Siri.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said Apple plans to hold an event on October 13 to unveil its smart home hub, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV, adding that "all three devices will have Siri AI at the core," per 9to5Mac. We rounded up the full three-product lineup when Gurman first reported the date. Apple has not announced an event.
Apple has not confirmed new Apple TV hardware or Apple Intelligence for tvOS. Strings in beta code can change or disappear before release.
