By about 5:30 a.m. PT, Apple’s U.S. online store showed January 25 shipping for every iPhone Duo configuration. Early eBay listings marked sold include a 2TB Night Sky at $5,000.
Within roughly half an hour of iPhone Duo pre-orders opening at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, Apple’s U.S. online store was already showing a shipping estimate of January 25 for every configuration, MacRumors reports (Joe Rossignol). That is a sharper slip than the mixed October 23 and November windows buyers described in the first minutes after the open.
The Verge (Stevie Bonifield) likewise says delivery estimates slid into late January in less than an hour. MacRumors notes that with estimates into 2027, Duo is no longer available for delivery before Christmas through Apple’s online store.
MacRumors listed the same January 25 estimate for all eight U.S. online configurations when its wait-times piece published:
Apple’s shipping estimates reflect supply and demand together; the company has not published day-one inventory figures. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had previously said Duo supply would be limited, MacRumors notes, after earlier reports of production-yield pressure.
Apple Store pickup was briefly offered during online checkout, then disabled, with Apple telling customers to check back on Saturday, October 24, according to MacRumors. Launch-day walk-in stock on October 23 may still arrive earlier than January for some buyers, but inventory is expected to be tight. Resellers such as Best Buy are also taking orders.

As spotted by Vadim Yuryev of Max Tech and reported by MacRumors (Joe Rossignol), Duo units have already been marked sold on eBay at steep markups:
Those are secondary-market listings, not Apple pricing. They sit alongside the same January 25 online estimates MacRumors recorded when the eBay piece published.
U.S. retail pricing remains $1,999 (256GB), $2,199 (512GB), $2,599 (1TB), and $3,199 (2TB) in Night Sky and Star White.
