Verizon confirmed a $10 monthly fee for iPhone Handoff on iOS 27, including iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro — double T-Mobile's $5 rate.
Verizon confirmed it will charge $10 per month for iPhone Handoff, Apple's iOS 27 feature that lets one carrier number move between two iPhones. The price landed in Verizon's iPhone Duo pre-order announcement on Friday and is twice what T-Mobile charges for the same capability.
Verizon says Handoff will work on compatible iPhones running iOS 27, including iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. In its wording, customers can switch active status between devices while keeping Verizon 5G access. A number is active on only one phone at a time. Verizon labels support as "coming soon," matching Apple's earlier note that Verizon would adopt the feature before year-end.
MacRumors (Juli Clover) and 9to5Mac (Marcus Mendes) carried the carrier confirmation Friday afternoon Pacific Time.
T-Mobile already offers iPhone Handoff for $5 per month. Deutsche Telekom in Germany prices MultiSIM-style support at €6.95 per month unless it is bundled in MagentaMobil L or XL. U.K. carrier EE said this week it will support Handoff soon: free on Full Works Plus plans, otherwise £5 per month.
AT&T has not announced support. Reporting after Apple's September event said the carrier was focused on existing eSIM activation and transfer tools instead.
Handoff is pitched as a way to keep one number while bouncing between a pocketable Duo and a conventional Pro for work or battery. That use case sits next to the extraordinary Duo pre-order demand week and the January 25 U.S. online delivery picture. Verizon's fee does not change Duo list pricing or launch day; it is additive carrier pricing for the dual-phone number feature.
