Tesla says its Robotaxi service now runs from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, while an upgrade to vehicle distribution and routing is intended to reduce rider wait times. The company’s official Robotaxi account announced the changes on August 26, without identifying a software version or publishing new fleet totals.
Tesla described the change as an operations and dispatch improvement rather than a new Full Self-Driving (FSD) release. The company said its unsupervised fleet is “a lot bigger” than before, but gave no vehicle count or market-by-market breakdown.
Tesla’s public Robotaxi page lists service in Austin, Dallas and Houston, Texas, and Miami, Orlando and Tampa, Florida. Its page also says the purpose-built Cybercab will offer rides in local areas in the future. That means the hours statement should not be read as confirmation that every rider in every listed market will see identical availability or wait times.
If the longer schedule applies to a rider’s local service area, the practical change is a wider window for requesting a Robotaxi. Tesla says the routing upgrade should position vehicles more effectively and shorten waits, but it has not published before-and-after wait-time data.
The update also does not make Full Self-Driving (Supervised) available for unsupervised private-owner use. Robotaxi operations remain a separate, geofenced service, and Cybercab availability has not been announced as a normal consumer purchase or unrestricted ride option.
The next useful checks are Tesla’s Robotaxi app and service page: they should show whether hours, coverage and vehicle availability have changed in a specific market. Tesla’s September 3 Austin Cybercab event may also clarify whether the new vehicle expands the existing fleet or remains limited to demonstrations and controlled operations.
